About AssistStaff: helping small businesses grow
The short story about AssistStaff: we are a Houston, Texas company, operated by Taskflowify, LLC, building an AI receptionist for owner-run small businesses. Our mission is to help small businesses grow by answering every call and giving every customer proper attention, 24/7, without the cost of more staff.
Our mission: help small businesses grow
Small businesses lose customers in a quiet way: the phone rings while the owner is on a job, with a client, or asleep, and the caller moves on to someone else. Nobody sees the lost job, but it adds up month after month. Hiring a receptionist to cover every hour is out of reach for most owner-run businesses, and voicemail is not a conversation.
AssistStaff exists to close that gap. We want every caller to get a real answer, every customer to get proper attention, and every owner to get that coverage around the clock without adding payroll. We measure our work the way an owner does: calls caught, jobs booked and hours saved.
Who we serve
We build for owner-run small businesses where a missed call is a missed job, and where the person answering the phone is often the same person doing the work.
- Home service companies: plumbing, HVAC and electrical contractors
- Law offices that need consistent intake calls and consultation booking
- Salons, spas and barbershops that book appointments by phone
- Businesses whose customers prefer Spanish or Korean
- Other local service businesses that cannot keep someone by the phone all day
A Texas AI receptionist company
AssistStaff is based in Houston, Texas, and operated by Taskflowify, LLC. We build and run the product ourselves, and we serve small businesses across the United States. Texas is home, and Texas businesses are a natural fit: many of them serve English-speaking and Spanish-speaking callers every day.
The receptionist answers in English, Spanish and Korean. Each caller hears the language saved on their contact record, and every note and appointment is kept in English for the owner.
Why we build an AI receptionist
We chose to build an AI receptionist because it fits the way small businesses actually work. It is available every hour of every day, it gives the same careful answer on the hundredth call of the week as on the first, and it does not need a schedule, a break room or a backup when someone is out sick.
It also fits a small-business budget. AssistStaff plans start at $29 a month, while a full-time receptionist earns about $38,000 a year in median pay, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. We believe an AI receptionist should also know its limits: when a caller needs a person, it transfers the call or sets up a callback instead of guessing, and the owner can read every conversation in the call log.
What the AI receptionist does today
- Answers inbound calls 24/7 in a natural voice
- Books, reschedules and cancels appointments on Google Calendar during the call, with text message confirmations
- Takes messages and answers questions from the business’s own information: services, hours, policies and FAQs
- Transfers urgent or requested calls to the owner or staff, and sets up a callback when nobody can pick up
- Logs every call with a transcript and builds customer profiles automatically
- Keeps tasks, notes and reminders for the team, and connects with Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar
How we build: privacy and control first
Your business’s calls and customer records belong to your account, and each account’s data is kept separate from every other account’s. We never use call recordings to train AI models; that commitment is written into our privacy policy.
Call recording is off by default. If an owner turns it on, only the calls that match the rules the owner sets are recorded. Texas is a one-party-consent state, and each owner remains responsible for any notice their own location requires; the product includes a built-in notice that the call may be recorded for owners who want one.
Setup is meant to be simple enough for a busy owner: forward your existing business number, add your business information, and go live in minutes, with no coding.
